Running game servers
Paper, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, etc.; I run servers for my friends and me to play on, and I enjoy getting the plugins, mods, Bedrock crossplay, and daily backups dialled in just right.
I run game servers and tinker with self-hosting, purely because I enjoy it.
This is just my little corner of the web — a place to point at the things I build and break for fun. Have a look around, and say hi if any of it's useful.
Mid's Niteworks is my little corner of the internet, a place to keep notes on the things I tinker with. I run Minecraft (and other game) servers for me and my friends, keep the machines they live on ticking along, and generally enjoy taking things apart to see how they work.
It's a hobby, not a business, I just genuinely enjoy this stuff. If you fancy a chat, the best place to find me is Discord at midnite131.
The stuff that eats my evenings and weekends.

I run my own boxes at home and a VPS or two. Containerised, patched, monitored, and locked down. It's the hobby that never really finishes, which is half the fun.
Most of what I know came from pulling something apart, breaking it thoroughly, and figuring out how to put it back together again. Repeat until it works.
I'm a bit obsessed with doing this right on my own machines. Password managers, two-factor everywhere, passkeys, sensible offline backups, and keeping an eye on the logs.
What my own boxes are up to right now, shared just because I think it's neat. Refreshes itself every few seconds. These are allocation figures — how much of each machine is spoken for — so a high number means it's being used well, not that something's wrong.
The easiest way to reach me is on Discord, feel free to drop a message any time.
midnite131 — daft questions very welcome. I usually respond quickly.
